Participants Needed: UVic Study re Single Mothers and Food Insecurity

Participants will be asked to take part in a brief online survey
(distributed via Survey Monkey), a one 1.5-hour semi structured audio
recorded interview, and an optional follow up focus group. The interview
will concentrate on specific women’s experience, while the focus group will
be a venue to discuss potential strategies and solutions to address food
insecurity as experienced by participants. All participants will receive
complimentary food and beverage, subsidized or complimentary childcare, bus
vouchers for transportation, and a twenty-dollar gift card to Thrifty
foods.

Participants will have the option of remaining anonymous in the final
analysis, and the researcher will take all necessary steps to ensure
participant confidentiality is maintained. This project is being supervised
by Dr. Laura Parisi and has undergone ethics approval through the
University of Victoria. I hope to engage 5-10 single mothers who are self
identified women, consider themselves food insecure, and have at least one
child under the age of fifteen living at home with them.

Participants will be chosen on a first come first serve basis. Morning, evening, and weekend appointments available. For more information or to participate contact Jasmine Nielsen: Email: jasmines@uvic.ca Phone: 250–‐661–‐9045
